Co-Founder and Therapist

(She/her/hers)

I love working with passionate people, whether their energy manifests as anger or intensity, and helping to redirect that energy into positive motivation. I specialize in stress and anger management, fertility issues, and substance use disorders, with extensive experience in addiction recovery through both inpatient and outpatient settings. This work has taught me how to stabilize crisis situations and create momentum when clients feel stuck. My versatile background includes experience with the military, trauma, domestic violence, parental coaching, anxiety, dual diagnoses, and stress management. I firmly believe in a person-centered therapy approach, drawing primarily from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Dialectic Behavioral Therapy (DBT) to meet individual needs. By using skills-based therapies and mindfulness approaches, my goal is to empower each person to discover their own best path.

I am a fierce lover of books and traveling and thrive on finding hidden places everywhere I visit. I am energized by helping others find creative ways to engage with people and their environment. My time out of the office is spent chasing (or transporting) kids, wrestling with dogs, stumbling into adventures, and trying to converse with my husband over all the chaos.

Some things you may hear me say in session…

Love is unconditional, relationships are not

Wherever you go, you take yourself with you

Anything worth anything is scary

You're not going to be for everyone and that's ok

Some things I love to recommend:

Books are my favorite thing. There is so much to learn from the experiences of others and so much to relate to and process when you get to see things play out in different ways in fiction. There are beautiful and inspirational metaphors and heroes to have take over for your inner voice.

Quotes I love that say something about my work…

“There is no ideal world for you to wait around for. The world is always just what it is now, and it's up to you how you respond to it.”
(Isaac Marion - Warm Bodies)

We are where we are, however we got here. What matters is where we go next.

If you can't laugh at yourself, life's gonna seem a whole lot longer than you like. (Garden State)
