(She/her/hers)

I believe that human growth thrives in an environment of authenticity, non-judgment, and the willingness to face challenges directly. My passion is creating a space where vulnerability and self-compassion are welcomed, and where clients never feel alone on their healing journey. I guide clients in recognizing their strengths and working toward personal goals using humanistic, psychodynamic, and strengths-based approaches, along with Dialectical Behavioral Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy techniques. With experience in various treatment settings, I have worked with individuals of all ages, addressing mood, anxiety, substance use, eating disorders, and social inequality through individual, couples, group, and family counseling.

I value consistently having a little fun in my day to day life. In my free time I enjoy hanging out with my friends and family, traveling, dancing for enjoyment and exercise, capturing moments through photography, and cuddling my little yorkie until she's had enough of me! I love fancy nail designs- nails are a consistent part of my self-care routine. I enjoy creating community with others and getting to know new people.

My Specialties:

  • Eating disorders & body image concerns

  • Anxiety

  • ADHD in women and girls (esp. Women of color)

  • Grief and Loss

  • Mental health of the Black/African-American community

  • Self-identity work

Some things you may hear me say in session…

“Saying you ‘Should’ have___ is like a mental health curse word! Let’s replace it with something that may be more helpful”

“What if I told you that…”,

“One thing I’m hearing is…”,

“I’m noticing a pattern of ___, where do you think this comes from?”,

“who taught you that?”,

“Let’s work on giving you some grace for…”,

“I’m going to challenge you to…”,

“PERIOD!!!”

Some things I love to recommend:

I love to give journaling prompts based off of the conversation we had in session. I love to create boundaries to use in one’s personal/professional life. I love to recommend saying “no”. Following inspirational social media pages. Creating personalized affirmations.

A quote I love that says something about my work

When my clients say… “I love that you challenge me in our sessions”.
